For many students, the most stressful part of beauty school is finding the money to fund their education. If this sounds like you, we’re here to help! These eighteen scholarships are all available to United States residents who are either currently attending or about to attend beauty school. We hope you find a cosmetology scholarships on this list that suits you—and we wish you luck in your future career!

$500 Beauty School Cosmetology Scholarships

The $500 beauty school scholarship is sponsored by Niche, a company that helps you research neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools.

In order to apply, you have to be a current or future beauty school student who is at least thirteen years old and has permission from a legal guardian. Only one entry per household is allowed, and you must live in the United States and have a U.S. social security number to enter.

ACE Program

The ACE Program was founded by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS) to help future cosmetologists to get the education they need to start their careers.

The AACS is a nonprofit committed to aiding private beauty schools and their students.

To apply, you must be a current or future attendee of a participating school. AACS has a “Find a School” option where you can see if your school is eligible.

Applicants must fill out this form to get a copy of the application, which they will then have to fill out and return.

Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation

The Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation was founded in memory of Andrew Gomez, a cosmetologist who died of suicide. They aim to help students and their mental health by providing aid, including two cosmetology scholarships for beauty students.

Scholarships cover tuition up to $3,750.

To apply, you must be accepted into or currently attending a beauty or barber school program. Applicants must create a 3-minute video to be considered for a scholarship.

APWU Vocational Scholarship Program

The APWU Vocational Scholarship Program was founded by the American Postal Worker’s Union.

Cosmetology scholarships cover up to $3,000 over three years of schooling.

To apply, you must be a high school senior and the child or grandchild of a current or former APWU member.

Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship

The Beauty Changes Lives Scholarship was founded in 2013 by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and has provided 2.8 million in scholarships since.

The scholarship awards $1000 to students.

To apply, you must have been accepted or currently be attending beauty school.

Beauty Schools Directory Scholarship

The Beauty Schools Directory Scholarship was founded by Beauty Schools Directory to help future cosmetologists who are worried about how they will pay for school.

The scholarship awards $2,500 to one current or future beauty school student.

To apply, you must be a United States resident. You must be at least eighteen or have your legal guardian’s approval to enter and have proof of acceptance or attendance at a beauty school.

Applicants must fill out this form.

Buy-Rite Beauty Annual Cosmetology Scholarship

The Buy-Rite Beauty Annual Cosmetology Scholarship was founded by Buy-Rite Salon & Spa Equipment to help students pay for beauty school.

The scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, you must be a United States resident who has applied to or is currently attending beauty school.

Applicants must write a 500 to 1000-word essay and submit it by email. More information can be found here.

The Great Scholarship Program

This scholarship is run by Great Clips in memory of Alice Madden Barton, mother to the Great Clips CEO and Chairman. It is given twice a year with deadlines in July and December.

Cosmetology scholarships range from $250-$1,500.

To apply, you must be at least 16 years old and have permission from a guardian. You also have to be a legal resident in the United States or Canada and a current cosmetology student.

Applicants must fill out this form and will be contacted by a local Great Clips owner if selected.

The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation

The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1994 in memory of Joe Francis, founder of The Barbers Corporation. His wife’s goal was to honor the hard work that brought him out of poverty and into a successful career.

Each scholarship is $1,200.

To apply, you must be currently enrolled in or accepted to a cosmetology or barber school. Students graduating between January 1st and August 31st of the current year are not eligible.

Education Rocks Scholarship

The Education Rocks Scholarship is awarded by Kathy Jager & Associates. Its aim is to help students finance their future careers.

The scholarship is $250.

To apply, you must be a current beauty school student or have been accepted into a beauty school.

Applicants must fill out this form.

Keller Cosmetology Scholarship

The Keller Cosmetology Scholarship is provided by Keller International. Their goal is to provide educational opportunities to cosmetology students.

The scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, you must be enrolled in a barber or cosmetology school program.

Applicants must submit an application, letter of recommendation, and short video. Find out more here.

Licensed to Create

The Licensed to Create Scholarship was founded by CosmoProf, a salon product and equipment distributor. Their goal is to support new cosmetology students by funding their education.

The scholarship is up to $5,000.

To apply, you must be a new cosmetology school student who’s completed less than half of their education.

Maple Holistics Scholarship Program

The Maple Holistics Scholarship Program was founded by Maple Holistics, a company devoted to natural products and health. Their goal is to provide funding for students who are as passionate about this subject as they are.

This scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, you must be a current student at a high school, college, university, or trade school. You do not need to study natural health in order to apply.

Applicants must submit a blog post about natural health and personal care and a short email. Find more information here.

Minerva Beauty Cosmetology Scholarship

The Minerva Beauty Cosmetology Scholarship is provided by Minerva Beauty and the Professional Beauty Association. Their goal is to fund education for passionate cosmetology students.

This scholarship is $1,000.

MUD Makeup Scholarship

The MUD Makeup Scholarship is funded by Make-up Designory (MUD). Their goal is to help makeup artists thrive in their education and careers.

They give out 5 scholarships every year. Each scholarship is $2,500.

To apply, you must be attending an accredited cosmetology or esthetics school that uses MUD makeup. You must be a new student who has completed less than half of your education.

OPI Scholarships

OPI Scholarships aim to help students interested in nail care succeed in their education and careers. Every year they selecet 24 scholarship winners.

Each winner receives a $500 scholarship.

You must be enrolled in a program that qualifies in order to apply.

Applicants must submit an application along with a written or video essay.

Ratner Companies Passion and Purpose Cosmetology Scholarship

The Ratner Companies Passion and Purpose Cosmetology Scholarship is run by Ratner Companies, a family-owned hair salon chain. The scholarship’s goal is to help cosmetology students be successful and achieve their dreams.

Cosmetology scholarships might cost up to $3,175.

To apply, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited beauty school.

Applicants must fill out a two-part survey.

Rosy Salon Software Cosmetology Scholarship

The Rosy Salon Software Cosmetology Scholarship aims to help passionate cosmetology, barber, and esthetics students pursue their education.

They award one $2,500 scholarship every quarter.

To apply, you must currently be in school to become a barber, cosmetologist, or esthetician.

These scholarships may even be easier to get, as there’ll be less competition since only those going to the school can apply.
